Just a thought..

When people get married, they get lots of gifts, (i.e. kitchen utensils, bathroom decor, that Kitchen Aide mixer you've been dying to use since a little girl...kind of).

Now, I'm no cook...exactly.  It makes me anxious and I usually mess up whatever it is I'm making.  There is one thing, though, that I enjoy making, and that's a PB&J sandwich.  It's simple and delicious. Also, I'm obsessed with peanut butter.  Even though I'm a terrible cook, I'd still love to pretend like I know what I'm doing with all those fancy things called wisks and bunts.

So my question is...
Why don't people who are single get the same gifts?
I mean, I could use some bathroom decor and a new comforter for my bed.
There should be a tradition that if by the time you're 25, maybe 27, you should be eligible to have a friend or family member throw you a shower where people give you everything you deserve, even when you're single.
It's a genius idea, and I know all you single people are praising me for my illustrious idea.

So, here is your opportunity people.  If you feel so inclined to throw me this beautiful ceremony of gift giving to bless me with the things I so deserve, bring them on!

Remember, my favorite color is yellow.
And I don't like zebra print.
Or tiger print.
Or leopard print.
Just, no animals prints, ok?

Stay true, stay real.
H.

  1. What I want to know is why a bride gets a wedding shower AND a wedding present. Just seems greedy.
